My name is Chris Valdes and I was born and raised in the Tidewater region of Southeast Virginia. I studied at Virginia Tech where I earned a B.S. in Psychology. After studying abroad for a semester in Monterrey, Mexico, I knew my calling was to learn Spanish. After graduating, a position teaching 6th grade at a bilingual school brought me to Olancho, Honduras. After spending several years in Central America, I returned home in 2012 and settled down in Boston.
I have been at Cornerstone ever since (5 years, wow!). The best part of my week is entering that little red schoolhouse every Tuesday, only to be greeted my dozens of toothless little smiles! The students’ curiosity and insatiable appetite for knowledge has motivated me to continue to learn and grow.
